THE THRILL OF NORTHERN TRAILS
Run on top and alongside the longest continuous limestone range in Malaysia. With the challenging terrain and ever-changing climate, experience the wonderful and mesmerizing view of Perlis National Park while making the mark of a trailblazer.
It is not all about running. It will be a discovery of the enchanted and wonderful Perlis. We will be providing all the assistance needed to make your participating experience be the 'run-cation' you well deserved.
FOR THE FIRST TIME
For the first time we will be introducing the SUPERB SENIOR CATEGORY for those age 50 years and above. Giving the recognition they deserved in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
To promote trail running from young age, a special JUNIOR CATEGORY is also introduced to groom more youngsters to enjoy the sport and outdoor lifestyle.
JOIN THE RUN AND JOIN THE FESTIVAL
Nakawan Ultra is not all about running the trails.
Complete the distance and NAKAWAN FEAST FIESTA will be awaiting you. A spread of local food and delicacies prepared by the locals at the event village.
For the deserving 50km ultra runners, the NAKAWAN JUNGLE FEST DINNER awaits you in the evening. A get-together music and feast gathering honouring the year long quest to be an ultra-runner.

Note:
- A 10% rebate of the total registration fees will be given for Group Registration of 10 entrance. The rebate is not applicable for super early bird rate. Please advise the organizer directly for the rebate.
- The super early bird rate is only for the first hundred paid and accepted entry registration.
- Fees are non-refundable but transferable with a fee of RM50.00. The bib transfer session will commence 30 days prior to the event date and end 14 days before the event date.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Runners Responsibilities
- Runners must complete the set course on foot by their own power and ability within the stipulated time.
- No pacers are allowed to run along with the runners for all categories.
- Personal assistance (support crew) along the running route and at the water stations are not allowed in all categories.
- Runners must understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in a long-distance trail / road running race. He/she must have undertaken the necessary training and physically and mentally able to compete in such an event.
- Runners will be responsible for his/her own safety by having the ability and skills to deal with problems that may be encountered during the race of this nature.
- Runners who accept any assistance and support from any person may be disqualified except;
- In the event of a runner meeting another runner who is in health difficulty or injured, he/she must stop to help and inform the race organizer to seek for medical assistance. Failure to do so may result in penalties or disqualification being imposed to the runner or runners concerned.
Mandatory Items
- By entering the race, each runner undertakes to take with him/her all the mandatory items as listed below throughout the race.
- Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Mandatory items (gear checks will be carried out on all runners before the race starts, and spot checks may be carried out along the route during the race and at the finish line):
50 km and 25 km mandatory items
- Headlamp + spare batteries
- Whistle
- Mobile phone
- GPS enable watch /devices
- Drinking cup, bowl and utensils (Items will not be provided at water stations)
- Emergency blanket
- Basic first aid kit
- Raincoat
- Water bottles or hydration bag with a minimum capacity of 500ml
- Glove
10 km mandatory items

Race Bibs
- Bib number is given individually to each runner in the Race Pack, upon presentation of identification document.
- Bib must be worn and clearly visible on the chest or on the back of the backpack carried by the individual runner.
- The bib is required for access to the water station areas, event village and supporting events.
Racecourse Markers
- The racecourse will be marked with reflective tapes and signs along the course and at major junctions.
- GPX files will be made available for download 14 days before race day.
- Runners must follow the directions given by the race organizer during the race briefing.
Safety and Medical Assistance
- In order to ensure race safety, race organizer will prepare and arrange for rescue and medical assistance during the race. However, each participant must recognize and understand that there are risks of injuries and/or accidents associated with trail running. Runners are participating in this race their own risk.
- While the race organizer has purchased Public Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance coverage for this event, it is strongly recommended that the runners obtained an adequate Personal Accident Insurance coverage for themselves.
- Medical aid will be available at a few designated water stations.
- In the best interest of the injured runner and upon exclusive discretion of the organizer, an emergency evacuation may be required. This emergency evacuation will be at the expenses of the person being rescued.
- The official race medical assistants are authorized to withdraw any runners deemed unfit to continue the competition. The runner bib will be removed as part of the DNF (Did Not Finish) procedures.
- In case of an emergency, if you are unable to reach the race headquarters, you can also call the public emergency number '999' directly for assistance.
- The race organizers reserve the right to implement any additional measures at any time to enhance and protect the race and the runner's safety before the race and during the race.
Checkpoints and/or Water Station Points
- Timing may be recorded at the checkpoints/water station points by the organizers.
- Only runners with bib number will have access to the water station.
- Drinking cups and utensils will not be provided. Rules states it is mandatory for runners to carry along their own cup and utensil during the race.
- The downloaded route map will contain accurate indications of the water station points.
- The organizers reserve the rights to carry out mandatory item checks at any of the checkpoints and other unspecified points along the route during the race.
Maximum Race Time Permitted and Cut-off Times
The maximum time allotted for completion of the race are:
- 50 km - 13 hours
- 25 km - 8 hours
- 10 km - 4 hours
DNF (Did Not Finish) Procedures
- Runners may DNF voluntarily or by missing the stipulated cut-off times at various checkpoints along the race course. (If any)
- Runners who decide to pull out voluntarily must proceed to the nearest checkpoint, inform and register with the race marshal and their bib will be marked to indicate their DNF status.
- Runners who fail to arrive at the checkpoints within the stipulated cut-off times (if any) will not be allowed to continue running in the race. His/her bib will be specially marked, and a DNF Form will need to be signed.
- Runners who fail to notify the organizers immediately of their voluntary DNF, thereby setting in motion a search and rescue operations by the rescue staff, will be liable to pay for any costs incurred.
- Runners who have DNF status from the race are not allowed to continue their run. If they insist on continuing running, they are NO LONGER in this event, and will be running entirely on their own accord and at their own risk.
- The DNF runners should rest at a bright, safe place with sufficient phone coverage while waiting for a non-scheduled assistance to assist them back to event village.
- If a runner is unable to move on their own, please contact the emergency number '999' or the race headquarters to seek for assistance.
Prohibited Actions
- Not carrying the mandatory items during the race.
- Taking shortcuts and/or running off the track.
- Throwing garbage along the running route.
- Cheating (using other means of transportation or substitute runners and other unlawful actions).
- Not abiding by the rules and regulations and official instructions given by the race organizer and their officially appointed staff and crews.
- Not wearing the race bib at all times during the race.
- Doping and the use of prohibited drugs.
Any rules infringement may incur time penalties or disqualification. Any such penalties are at the organizer's discretion and are final.
Route, Deadlines Changes and Race Cancellation
- The organizers reserve the right with rightful responsibility to:
- Postpone the race date or
- Providing refund option or
- Scheduling a new date with automatic entry slot transfer.
- The organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice or when the participants quota reaches its limit.
- In the event of poor weather conditions and/or for safety reasons, the organizers reserve the rights without prior notice to suspend the race or to make changes to the cut-off times.
- In the event of adverse weather conditions, the starting time may be postponed for 5 hours at most, after which time the race will be canceled;
- Where necessary, the organizers reserve the right to make changes to or eliminate certain stretches of the route.
Rankings and Prizes
- The race winner of each category will be the runner that takes the shortest time (gun time) to reach the finish point.
- To be awarded, runner must complete the overall race within the final cut-off, using only the designated routes, without any rules and regulation infringement and fulfill the mandatory items requirement.
Image Rights
Each participant expressly foregoes his/her image rights for the photos taken for the duration of the race, and undertakes not to take any action against the organizers and their authorized partners for the use of his/her image.
Additional Rules
- The organizer reserves the right to limit, accept or reject any entries without prior notice and reasons.
- The organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice or when the participants quota reaches its limit.
- Successful participants MUST collect their Race Kit (Bib & T-shirt) in person or via an authorized person by presenting the copy of Official Receipt or identity card or passport at a date and time given for REPC. The date and time will be announced soon.
- Those who are found running with an unauthorized race number/bib will be disqualified, and the entry fees is not refundable.
- The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any person who gives incorrect personal data/details on the entry form, or who is suspected of having taken illegal substances. Entry fees will not be refunded.
- Participants who do not start according to the run time assigned to them by the Organizer are not entitled to the race results.
- The Organizer's decision in any matter related to the event shall be binding and final. Any request for appeals and reviews are not allowed.
- The organizer and its representatives shall not be held responsible for injury, death, damage, loss, delay, expense incurred or inconveniences caused before, during or after the run.
- Should the event be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizer (including heavy rain, natural disaster, national security interest, etc.), no refund of the entry fee will be made and the organizer shall have no further responsibility and/or liability thereafter.
- The organizer reserves the right to disallow/disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event. The organizer may perform drug test on any of the participants. The title shall be revoked if the winners fail to satisfy the drug test.
